Investiture ceremony held at Sainik School Punglwa
DIMAPUR — The investiture ceremony of Sainik School, Punglwa, took place on Tuesday, with Brigadier Arupendu Gupta, SM, the officiating chairman of the Local Board of Administration (LBA), as the chief guest.
According to a press release, during the ceremony, academic torches were awarded to the meritorious cadets for academic excellence during the 2023–24 academic session and selected cadets were pipped to take on new appointments.
Upon arrival, the officer was accorded a Guard of Honour before the commencement of the proceedings. Subsequently, the principal briefed him on the training and administrative aspects of the school.
While addressing the cadets, Gupta complimented them on their performance and congratulated them on their new appointments. He emphasised that the investiture ceremony signifies recognition of their hard work and encouraged them to live up to expectations. Additionally, he reminded them that with great power comes great responsibility.
The executive engineer of PWD (Housing), the dean of the College of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry, Jalukie, as well as representatives from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Jalukie, were among those who attended the event. Faculty members of the school and parents of the cadets were also present at the ceremony.
A meeting of the LBA of the school was also convened to discuss various agendas related to school functioning and further improvement.
