Introspection on money lending

My intention of presenting this is free from ill intention, and this reflects my personal views and thoughts, this is not the expression of my frustration but if we visualize or ocular this practice through the Christian prism it contradicts the Christian laws and virtues and indeed it has become a social pestilence disease thus pulverising the sweet fabric of our society.2-3 decades back we as a Nagas we were highly known for our generosity and kindness, but at the present context I don’t think it is, as it was as before due to our high social standard and elevating oneself or to accentuate, many are tethered to this practice since society looks up to the rich and successful, not only the society but church itself. When there are spiritual gatherings or crusades thousands flock around to hear the word of God, hearing does not attribute towards behind a good Christian, practically following the word of God is what the achievement is. Money lending has become a social epidemic disease. Many are hooked in it.
There are many registered, non-registered society hearing out this highly profitable business. Even many individuals claiming to be from the society has also a hand in it. I am not totally opposed or against since to attain a sustainability and productivity we should but by legality of the agreements or by bond we become diabolical towards our fellow being.
There are also positive effects or outcome as well such as for people undergoing contract works, setting up business, firms, undergoing medical treatments but its negative impact is at the most. When it comes to the social courtesy it is just almost tearing our society apart. I have witnessed and many might have, many such cases of divorce, brawl and arguments arising out of this. Few years I even came across on our daily paper where a woman was forced to retire voluntary on the pretext of failing to repay the loan which she was indebted. How many can we break and how many can we mend. Legally speaking we may say it’s a voluntary obtainment so the lender or the borrower may have the full legal rights being it constitutional or customary rights but lets not also forget those worldly or earthly rights may one day deprive us of the rights that is in heaven. As a Christian we believe “the final judgement day”, when the Almighty ask us the interest on the talent he has given us what will be our response, so lets introspect all this through the Christian ethics.
To again aggravate it the church whom we consider to be the highest protector of moral values has now become the highest predator, why? Since I have seen many wealthy urban churches in around Dimapur involving in church’s exchequer or fund with interest. Church itself has become to compromise with social forces, it has now become a platform for open competition on the race with one another materially. How big  can we build, how lavish should the decoration be, how many can we be able to accommodate but is there any church that can boldly say how many souls have I saved today?
There many less prevailage individuals wanting to go for theological studies or waiting for sponsorship after attaining theological degree but due to limited means they are deprived of such yearning. The church should function universally beyond its boundaries without barriers. Inspite of huge development being carried out there will be no meaning at all if we cant be able to save even a single soul. The main missing of the church should profess universal love and kindness since no human law on earth can’t reconcile humility to God, until and unless moral ethics and moral values is installed. Our present generation has lost the sweet legacy of our forefathers who inspite of their uncivilised world Christian virtues like love, kindness, honesty has always been their main instrument. So the church should profess the basic principle of Christianity since as a Christian State our society is been determined by these virtues. So let’s build our society with love and kindness rather building our palatial lavish houses with hatred and grudges from those whom we have inflicted.
