Inter-Ward Football Tournament: Mongsenbai, Dilong enter semi-finals

• MOKOKOCHUNG — The quarter-finals of the Inter-Ward Football Tournament 2025 delivered gripping actions as Mongsenbai and Dilong secured their spots in the semi-finals with standout performances here at Imkongmeren Sports Complex on Monday.

• In the first match, Mongsenbai edged past Majakong 1-0 to cruise into the next round. Tiatoshi proved the hero for Mongsenbai, firing home the decisive goal in the 21st minute. Majakong fought hard to claw back into the game, dominating possession in the second half, but their efforts to equalise fell short against a resolute Mongsenbai defence. The lone strike was enough to send Mongsenbai through into the semifinals.

• The second quarter-final saw Dilong triumph over Tongdentsuyong in a dramatic 4-2 tie-breaker, sealed by a stellar performance from goalkeeper Imtisashi. Both teams showcased equal dominance throughout the match, trading chances in a tense battle.

• In the second half, Dilong’s Temsuyanger had a golden opportunity when a rebound landed at his feet inside the D-box, but his shot was cleared off the line by a Tongdentsuyong defender near the goal’s edge.

• With neither side able to break the deadlock, the game went to a tie-breaker. Dilong’s shooters held their nerve, converting all four attempts, while Imtisashi’s brilliant save and a miss from Tongdentsuyong’s fourth shooter, Lanutemsu, who struck the crossbar, ended their tournament run.
