Inter-Kiphire District U-23 Cricket Tournament begins
DIMAPUR — The Kiphire District Cricket Association (KDCA) kicked off the Inter-Kiphire District U-23 Cricket Tournament on Tuesday at Kiphire HQ on the theme “United colours of us”.
According to a press release, Akheto V Sangtam, executive chairman of the United Sangtam Students’ Conference (USSC), attended the inaugural programme. Sangtam expressed that organising such a tournament provides an opportunity for youths to develop discipline in all aspects of life rather than wasting their leisure time.
He emphasised the tournament theme, stating that with a multi-tribe population in Kiphire district, such initiatives through sports could help to bridge the gap in fostering more unity and building a strong relationship within the district.
