DIMAPUR — The Sovima Cricket Ground has been a witness to enthralling cricketing action on the third day of the ongoing Senior Men’s Inter-District One Day Tournament 2024.

In the first match, Longleng displayed a dominant performance, securing a comprehensive nine-wicket victory over Phek.

After bundling out Phek for a meagre 94 runs, thanks to impressive bowling displays from Ranjen Kumar (2/2) and Arjun Kumar Yadav (2/7), Longleng’s batters made light work of the target.

Rajesh Das led the charge with an unbeaten 51, while Helom Phom chipped in with 15 not out as Longleng cruised to 97/1 in just 23 overs. Rajesh Das’ all-round performance earned him the Player of the Match award.

The second match at the Sovima Cricket Ground witnessed a top-notch performance, specifically in bowling, by Zunheboto, which emerged victorious by a massive 97-run margin against Kiphire.

Batting first, Hauto’s scintillating 91-run knock propelled Zunheboto to a total of 207/10 in 39.5 overs. Kavito Lemtur’s valuable contribution of 27 runs provided great support. Kiphire’s bowlers, Bohoto Yeptho (4/35) and Sani Das (3/31), did a decent job of restricting Zunheboto within a chaseable target.

In reply, Kiphire’s batting faltered, and they were bundled out for 110 runs in 28.5 overs, with Kavito Lemtur (2/18) and Atoka H Sumi (2/19) leading the charge with the ball for Zunheboto. Hauto’s outstanding knock of 91 runs earned him the Player of the Match award.
