DIMAPUR — An inter-departmental convergence meeting was held at the SDO (civil) office, Jakhama, to discuss the Intensified Mission Indradhanush (IMI), measles and rubella (MR) elimination drive, and routine immunisation on Thursday.

According to a DIPR report, the meeting was chaired by SDO (civil) Jakhama, Nockpai Konyak, who deliberated on the occasion on the emergence and importance of child immunisation.

He urged each department to educate the public about immunisation and to spread the word about vaccination throughout the community, as they play an important role in sensitisation.

In his address, SMO Viswema Dr. T Adi Belho emphasised the importance of vaccination and the ongoing immunisation programme. He requested that all departments and the organisation work together.

District coordinator Kehile informed during the meeting that the Indian Social Responsibility Network (ISRN), in collaboration with the state government, is currently implementing the MOMENTUM Routine Immunisation Transformation and Equity (M-Rite) programme, which is supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
