INTACH organises poster, essay competitions

DIMAPUR — National poster and essay competition for schools on the theme ‘My monument search’ was conducted by INTACH Nagaland Chapter on March 6 at Don Bosco Institute and Learning, Riverbelt colony, Dimapur.

Altogether, 82 students from classes 7 to 9 from nine schools took part in the programme, an update stated.

The students were asked to paint and write a 200-word essay on their chosen monument in the region.

Before the competition, state convener, Sentila T Yanger, gave a power-point presentation on India’s rich architectural heritage including forts, palaces and places of worship dating from antiquity and the conservation and restoration of heritage for the future generations.

It mentioned that a total of 10 national winners will be announced from the nationwide entries submitted across the country. All the entries will be submitted to INTACH, New Delhi, the update stated.

Christian Higher Secondary School, El-Shaddai Academy, Bethesda Higher Secondary School, Holy Cross School, Ram Janaki Higher Secondary School, SD Jain Higher Secondary School, Little Star Higher Secondary School, Cornerstone Higher Secondary School and Blessings Academy took part in the competition.

Meanwhile, INTACH Nagaland Chapter thanked all the school principals, teachers and students for their cooperation and support throughout the competition.

It also expressed optimism that a national winner will emerge from Nagaland.
