Institutions observe 69th Republic Day

Dimapur, Jan. 26 (EMN): Various institutions in Nagaland celebrated 67th Republic Day on Jan. 26 with formal pageantry and symbolism.
SJC: St. Joseph’s College, Jakhama observed the Republic Day at the College campus on Jan. 26. Fr. C Joseph Hoisted the national flag. A press release from the college authority on Thur. informed about the programme.
Speaking during the occasion, Fr. Joseph said, “It is time for all of us to come together to preserve the traditional brotherhood, peace and harmony in our beloved country.”
It is a time for peace and bounden duty of everyone to ensure that every Indian feels safe, grows and prospers in freedom, he added.
Fr. Joseph appealed to leaders across the political spectrum to recognize that groups and individuals spreading poison and sowing hatred which are increasing and are being emboldened.
Recalling the contribution of freedom fighters, he said that they had sacrificed themselves to hand over to future generations a secular country ‘where the mind is without fear and the head is held high.’
SET: School of Engineering and Technology, Nagaland University celebrated the 69th Republic Day in the Academic Complex of SET, DC Court junction.
Dean of SET Prof. S K Sharma hoisted the national flag. In his speech Sharma opined ‘everyone must work towards eradicating the three main problems of our society viz. poverty, unemployment and illiteracy.’
PVHSS: Pranab Vidyapith Hr. Sec. School of Dimapur celebrated the 69th Republic Day in the premises of the school. Updates from the school authority on Thur. informed.
The institution’s Principal Monoj Bhattacharjee, Vice-Principal AK Roy, and Swami Chinmayananda Maharaj Secretary hoisted the national flag and spoke to the gathering about the sanctity of the occasion and the role played by the constitution’s makers with particular reference to Dr. BR Ambedker.
EIS: Euro International School of Dimapur celebrated the 69th Republic Day. The national flag was hoisted in the school’s premises on Jan. 26, it was informed.
On the occasion, the school’s principal spoke about the diverse communities in the nation. He talked also about the relevance of the constitution and the preamble, it was informed.
JNV Chare: JNV Chare celebrated the 69th Republic Day at its school’s multi-purpose ground. The tri-colour was unfurled during the event. The schools informed about the event on Thur.
Exhorting the students during the occasion, Principal Harish Kalita said, “Contribution to the progress and development of our country is not or sacrificing our lives for the nation. We could contribute to only through fighting with enemies at our borders our nation by being fair and honest in character and our actions.”
Urging the students to strive for academic excellence, the principal said that their academic excellence would be their contribution to the society and the country.
