Institutes offer seats for Nagaland students

Dimapur, May 28 (EMN): The Nitte Medical University at Mangalore and the Moodlakatte Institute of Technology, Kundapura Taluk, have announced seats to various courses in the institutions for the academic year 2019-20.

This is stated to be from an initiative by the governor of Nagaland PB Acharya, and the Indian National Fellowship Centre, a nongovernmental organisation from Mumbai.

The governor’s office issued a press release informing about the development.

Nitte Medical University has offered 24 courses. The university will exempt college fees in full for the courses. Students will have to bear only the hostel and mess fees, the press release stated.

The governor’s office listed out the number of seats and courses: The university will be offering three M.Sc in nursing, three GNM, two Master of Public Health, two B.Sc in nursing, two MPharma, two B.Sc in biomedical science, two MA in mass communication and journalism, two BA in mass communication and journalism, two M.Sc in anaesthesia and operation theatre technology, and two M.Sc in MLT-hematology and blood transfusion, one M.Sc in bio medical science, and one M.Sc in food safety and biotechnology.

Further, the Moodlakatte Institute of Technology also is offering free education for seven students from Nagaland in mechanical engineering (one seat), computer science and engineering (one), civil engineering (one), electrical and electronic engineering (one), electronics and communication engineering (one), and Master of Business Administration (two). Student will have to pay for their examination fees and cost of food, the press release stated.

‘Governor Acharya has constituted a committee to select the students based on merit. Interested students may submit their application stating the seat he/she wants to apply for along with a copy of their mark sheets, indigenous inhabitant of Nagaland certificate and their contact number addressed to OSD to Governor, Raj Bhavan Kohima by 10th June 2019,’ the press release informed.

“The application may be emailed to secy.rajbhavannagaland@gmail.com. For further enquiry one may contact (0370)2245789 during office hours,” it added.
