Inspecting Officer visits Sainik School
Dimapur, April 16 (EMN): Commodore G Rambabu, Inspecting Officer (IO) of Sainik Schools Society, Defence Ministry of India, made a two-day official visit to Sainik School Punglwa from April 15 to 17.
In his two-day stay at the school, he would be inspecting all possible aspects of the school covering the performance of school in academics, administration and development towards infrastructure.
The Inspecting Officer was received by Group Captain Sharad R Keskar. He was presented with a guard of honour by the senior division of NCC cadets of the school. The officer was briefed by the principal about the functioning of school and its various activities.
It was informed that the visiting officer interacted with all the staff, listened to their views and briefed them about the expectations of the Sainik Schools Society towards achieving the aim of establishment of the school.
On April 15, a special assembly was conducted in which the Inspecting Officer addressed the cadets. In his brief address, he guided and encouraged the cadets on how they should prepare and conduct themselves to reach the
National Defence Academy. He also stressed upon the importance of value education, which would imbibed in the cadets a sense of fair competition in every field of life.
He also suggested ways to improve the academic performance of the school along with the overall personality development of cadets so as to make them good citizen and successful person. He also inspected the academic block and the administrative section. In the afternoon, the officer attended a lunch with cadets organised by the cadets in his honour.
G Rambabu was presented a school memento by Gp Capt Sharad R Keskar, principal of Sainik School Punglwa.
In the evening, he witnessed a volleyball match played between the cadets and the staff. Later, he witnessed a cultural presentation organised by the students.
It may be mention here that Rambabu is a highly qualified officer with vast experience in academic administration. He is a B Tech (Mech), M Tech (Machine Design), M Tech (SATMET), M Phil (Oceanography), M.Sc (Def & Strategic Studies).
The officer had undergone many advanced navel courses including United Nations Course on Satellite Meteorology and Global Climate at ISRO. The officer had also helped in various assignments as administrator, operational forecaster, instructor in training, administration and operational appointments at various naval stations. He is presently a recipient of the Naval staff commendation, flag officer commanding-in-chief commendation and general Lentaign medal. The officer had served two terms as Sainik School Principal before being posted as Inspecting Officer at Sainik Schools Society in 2016.
