INR 8257 crore released to states towards curbing Covid-19, says Indian government

Dimapur, July 23 (EMN):
A total of INR 8257.88 crore, including INR110.60 crore towards payment of insurance of health workers, was released to states and union territories (UTs) through National Health Mission (NHM) during the financial year 2020-21 to check Covid-19 pandemic.

The share of Nagaland state was INR 10.27 crore under this package, while operational cost amounting to INR 1,20,51,714 (INR 1.20 crore) was also given to the state for vaccination of healthcare and frontline workers under Covid-19 vaccination drive during the same financial year.

This was informed by the Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Bharati Pravin Pawar, through a written reply in the Lok Sabha, on Friday.

The Ministry also updated that the Centre had provided operational cost to all states and UTs for vaccination of healthcare and frontline workers.
