INR 1.7 crore sanctioned for IMDH road maintenance

Kohima, Sep. 22 (EMN): The department of Urban Development and Municipal Affairs has sanctioned INR 1.7 crore for road maintenance leading to Dr. Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital (IMDH), Mokokchung.

This was informed by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio during the 13th NLA session on Thursday.

He added that work would ‘start as and when the working season arrives’.

Earlier in August, residents of Mokokchung town took to social media highlighting the deplorable road condition along the stretch.

A delegation of four youth associations comprising Penli ward, Makajong ward, Lijaba Lijen ward and Artang ward served a representation to the state government through the district administration.

The SDO (C), Mokokchung, who received the letter, assured to take the matter to the District Planning Development Board (DPDB).

The matter was later discussed by the DPDB and a detailed project report (DPR) was brought out amounting to about INR 1.2 crore, MLA, Dr. Ngangshi K Ao informed while raising the matter on the floor of the house.
