Inland waterways soon in Nagaland — MP Kenye
Dimapur, Sep. 19 (EMN): Nagaland Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and Chairman of Nagaland Inland Waterway Board (NIWB), KG Kenye accompanied by OSD of NIWB, Thomas had put up Inland Waterway projects in the State of Nagaland to the Inland Waterway Authority of India (IWAI) at New Delhi on last Monday.
A press release issued by the PRO to MP (Rajya Sabha), informed that the MP and the Officer on Special Duty (OSD-NIWB) held a fruitful meeting with the Director General of Ministry of Shipping, Shenkar and the Vice-chairman of IWAI, Pravir Pandey (IA&AS).
The release informed that three waterways in the State of Nagaland have been declared as National Waterway, viz.Tizu and Zungki NW – 101; Dhansiri NW-34 and Dikhu NW-35. Out of three, Tizu and Zungki is under active consideration of IWAI.
