Dimapur, May 4 (EMN): Recounting history, Naga National Political Groups (NNPGs) today said indigenous minority tribes of Nagaland namely Kuki, Garo, Kachari and Mikir (Karbi) are inseparable from the honourable political solution that is acceptable to the people of Nagaland.

This view was expressed at the joint meeting of Naga National Political Groups (NNPGs) and Indigenous Minority Tribes of Nagaland (IMTN) on May 4 to exchange views and opinions on the prevailing socio-political situation confronting the people of Nagaland.

A joint statement was issued by MB Neokpao and N Kitovi Zhimomi representing GPRN/NSCN; K Lun Tungnung, president of IMTN; NSCN (R); SK Khemprai, general secretary of IMTN; Z Royim and V Nagi, representing NNC (Parent body); Hozheto and Tsanthungo representing NNC/NPGN; and Kiumukam, representing NNC/GDRN.

NNPGs acknowledged that the indigenous tribes of Nagaland namely Kuki, Garo, Kachari and Mikir (Karbi) have, from the very beginning of the Naga political struggle, shared the pain and suffering of the national political struggle with the rest of the tribes of Nagaland adding the history made the indigenous minority tribes of Nagaland inseparable from the honourable political solution that is acceptable to the people of Nagaland.

The indigenous minority tribes of Nagaland had acknowledged the joint statements issued by NNPGs and Nagaland GBs’ Federation (NGBF) on March 9, 2017, and the subsequent statement on March 14, 2017, issued jointly issued by NNPGs and ENPO with the federating units, NNPGs and CNTC.

The joint statement agreed with the pronouncement of the Government of India on the difficulties of Naga integration at a present time. It rather was of the opinion that the historical rights and political aspirations must be decided by Nagas of Nagaland alone.
