Dimapur, April 19 (EMN):
The government of India’s interlocutor for Naga peace talks, AK Mishra, met with NSCN (IM) General Secretary Thuingaleng Muivah at the NSCN’s camp in Hebron in Nagaland on Tuesday.

This is the first time a central government leader or representative has met with the Naga political group at its base camp.

According to a reliable source, Muivah and Mishra had a one-on-one informal meeting at around 11:20 am on Tuesday. The meeting lasted for about an hour, before they proceeded to another session that was joined by other members, followed by lunch.

The source refused to divulge details of the meeting’s outcome, but revealed that a formal meeting between the interlocutor and the NSCN (IM) will be held on Friday and Saturday at the Chümoukedima Police Complex.

Reliable sources also informed this newspaper that Mishra will also meet the leaders of Working Committee, Naga National Political Groups (WC-NNPG) but the date is yet to me fixed.

The Centre’s interlocutor for Naga peace talks arrived in Nagaland on Monday for a week-long stay in attempt to resolve the vexed Naga political issue.
