
IRCSN officials along with the fire-affected victims during
the relief distribution programme in Kohima on Thursday.
- DIMAPUR — The
Indian Red Cross Society, Nagaland State Branch (IRCSN) extended relief
assistance to families affected by the devastating fire that broke out at
Officers’ Hill Colony in Kohima on April 2.
- The tragic incident left seven families displaced, causing
significant loss of property and essential belongings.
- An update from IRCSN stated that its general secretary,
Akhale V Khamo, along with managing committee members and Kohima Municipal
Council (KMC) councilor, Kevineiü Sekhose, visited the site to assess the
situation and provide much-needed assistance. The relief team distributed
essential items including blankets, hygiene kits, kitchen sets and cash support
to the affected families to help them cope with their immediate needs.

- Speaking at the site, Khamo sympathised with the affected
families and reaffirmed IRCSN’s commitment to providing timely humanitarian aid
during emergencies. She emphasised the importance of community support and
encouraged individuals and organisations to come forward in assisting those in
distress.
- Kevineiü Sekhose also extended her solidarity with the
victims and appreciated the response by the Indian Red Cross Society in
delivering aid to those in need.
- It further stated that the IRCSNS would continue to uphold
its mission of alleviating human suffering and remains dedicated in responding
to disasters and emergencies with compassion and efficiency.
