
Dimapur, March 27 (EMN): Indian army under Spear Head Division of Spear Corps saved many lives and valuable properties during a rescue operation by dousing fire at a house in Tuting, Arunachal Pradesh.
A defence release stated that a fire broke out in a house in densely populated area of Lower Tuting on March 26 due to a electric short circuit at around 4:55 pm. It stated that after receiving information of the incident, army and troops of Spear Corps immediately rushed with its fire fighting team and water bowzers to douse the fire. Fire tender of Air Force was also rushed to the site, it added.
The coordinated efforts displayed by the joint team of security forces managed to bring the fire under control. It reported that there was no casualty from the incident.
In a separate programme, troops of Dao Division under Spear Corps distributed books and stationery items to a school located at Kibithu in Arunachal Pradesh under Operation Samaritan.
It stated that books and stationery items were handed over to the headmaster of Government Middle School, Kibithu, in the presence of senior government officials.
In yet another programme, Longding battalion of the Assam Rifles under Spear Corps organised a quiz competition and screened movie for villagers of Kanubari and Niausa in Longding district of Arunachal Pradesh.
It stated that students from different schools have participated in the quiz competition. Following the quiz competition, a movie was also screened for the locals.
