Indian army honours martyrs

Dimapur, June 6 (EMN): Air Warrior, Corporal Dzüvingozo Weo, who passed away on May 31, was laid to rest in his home village Jakhama with full military honour on June 6. Corporal Dzüvingozo Weo was born on April 28, 1988, and was last serving in 2 Wing Air Force Station. The military honour was given by 164 Inf Bn (TA) (Home & Hearth) at Zakhama on behalf of AOC 2 Wing Air Force, Station Commander Zakhama Military Station, GOC 57 Mountain Division, Corps Commander 3 Corps and Chief of Air Staff. Indian army has conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and all residents of Jakhama village. It prayed for departed soul to rest in peace. In a separate programme, Indian army remembered Maj. David Manlun, Kirti Chakra (Posthumous), of 164 Inf Bn (TA) (H&H) NAGA (Parent Unit 1 NAGA) on his second death anniversary on June 6. Maj. David Manlun laid down his life on June 6 during an encounter with ULFA (I) insurgents at Lapa village in Tizit under Mon district. For his act of bravery and supreme sacrifice, Maj David Manlun was conferred with Kirti Chakra (Posthumous) on August 15, 2017. On the occasion, wreath laying ceremony was held in Tizit in a befitting manner to honour the martyr.
