India records 3.62 lakh new Covid-19 cases, 4120 deaths

Dimapur, May 13 (EMN): India registered 3, 62, 727 (3.62 lakh) new new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, pushing the country’s total active caseload to 37,10,525 (37.10 lakh) and tally to 2,37,03,665 (2.37 crore), according to data from the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

Ten states accounted for 72.42% of the new cases with Maharashtra reporting the highest daily new cases at 46,781, followed by Kerala- 43,529 and Karnataka- 39,998.

The country registered 4,120 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 2,58,317 (2.58 lakh) at 1.09% mortality rate.

The update went on to inform that 3,52,181 (3.52 lakh) recoveries were also registered in the last 24 hours, pushing the cumulative recoveries to 1,97,34,823 (1.97 crore) at 83.26% recovery rate.

As on day-117 of the vaccination drive (May 12), 18, 94, 991 vaccine doses were administered. Across 17,684 sessions, 9, 98, 409 beneficiaries were vaccinated for the first dose and 8,96,582 beneficiaries received their second dose of vaccine.

A total of 17,72,14,256 (17.72 crore) vaccine doses have been administered through 25,70,537 sessions, as per the provisional report till 7 am on Thursday.
