Mitelephe, Oct. 27 (EMN): Assuring economic equality and welfare for the poor and the elderly as his poll plank, Seyievilie Peter Zashümo, an independent candidate for the bye-poll to 14-Southern Angami-I assembly constituency, called upon the voters of Mitelephe on October 26 to vote for him.
Mitelephe is one of the villages in the Southern Angami region that falls under the 14-Southern Angami-I AC.
Speaking at the rally, Zashümo said that it was because of the confidence and trust of the people on him and their blessings that he decided to participate in the upcoming bye-election despite being denied the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) ticket.
Zashümo stated that ensuring economic equality as well as welfare for the poor and the elderly in the constituency would be his priority if he is elected. Zashü added that he would be the “voice of the voiceless” from the constituency.
