Independence Day attendance to be recorded and sent to Home Department

Nagaland Home Commissioner Anoop Khinchi has directed all government staff near the Secretariat Complex to attend the I-day celebration and submit attendance to the Home Department.

DIMAPUR — Nagaland Home Commissioner Anoop Khinchi, in an official release, has directed all officers and staff of departments located in the vicinity of the Nagaland Secretariat Complex to compulsorily attend the Independence Day celebration at the Civil Secretariat Plaza at 9 am on August 15.


According to a DIPR report, it has been mentioned that the attendance sheet shall be submitted to the Home Department for further necessary action.


The departments include the Department of Under Developed Areas (DUDA), Economics and Statistics, Health and Family Welfare, Higher Education, Technical Education, Information and Public Relations, Land Resource, Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), Rural Development, Sericulture, Social Welfare, Treasuries and Accounts, Urban Development, Veterinary and Animal Husbandry, New and Renewable Energy, Municipal Affairs, Information and Technology, Science and Technology, Horticulture, Home Guards and Civil Defence, Agriculture, Motor Vehicles, Labour, Fire and Emergency, State Institute of Rural Development (SIRD), Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN), Nagaland Empowerment of People through Economic Development (NEPED), Geographic Information System (GIS), and Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA).


Further, all deputy commissioners (DCs) have also been directed to issue instructions to all officers and staff of all departments under their respective jurisdiction to attend the Independence Day celebrations.

All the concerned heads of departments have also been directed to make arrangements for taking the attendance of their respective staff present at the function and to submit the attendance sheet to the Office of the Home Commissioner, Nagaland.


In Dimapur, the DC office issued a circular directing all government officers and staff in the district to attend the celebration at DDSC Stadium at 8:30 am in line with the Home Department notification. DC Dimapur Dr. Tinojongshi Chang emphasised the importance of the event and instructed all heads of departments to ensure compliance.


In a similar circular, DC Chümoukedima, Polan John, has directed all the officers and staff of departments under Chümoukedima district to compulsorily attend the Independence Day celebration at Samogooting Stadium, Chümoukedima. All departments have also been urged to submit attendance to the Additional Deputy Commissioner (Headquarters) Chümoukedima for onwards submission to the Home Department for further necessary action.

DC Niuland, Sara S. Jamir, informed all the heads of departments, heads of offices, officers, and staff of all the departments under Niuland district that there will be mandatory marking of attendance during the Independence Day celebration.


The attendance sheet shall be made available for each department at the rostrum and may be collected from Avonou Kire, sub-divisional officer (civil) headquarters. Further, all heads of departments and heads of offices have been directed to submit the marked attendance sheet, after counter-signature, to the SDO (C) for onwards submission to the Home Department.


Additional Deputy Commissioner Tening K Furhesie Nyuwi has informed all officers and staff of all departments under Tening to compulsorily attend the Independence Day celebration at the public ground, Tening town, and mentioned that the attendance sheet will be submitted to the DC Peren for onwards submission to the Home Department for further necessary action.
