Inception 2.0: Nagaland Hip-Hop Festival 2023 on October 24
KOHIMA — Inception 2.0: Nagaland Hip-Hop Festival 2023, powered by Task Force for Music & Arts (TaFMA) will be held on October 24 from 4 pm onwards at RCEMPA in Jotsoma.
This announcement was made by LC Sekhose, CEO of Table 3, during a press conference held at Garage Café in Mission Compound, Kohima on Tuesday.
The press briefing which was also attended by Rovi Metha, responsible for publicity and media; Joe Rutsa, the festival host; and Khriebu Meyase, the show director, highlighted the festival’s core purpose of being a comprehensive platform for the promotion of hip-hop culture in the state.
This event encompasses not only music but also various forms of art, including dance, music, graffiti, and fashion.
The organisers informed that they aim to offer an immersive experience that educates and inspires attendees.
The team apprised that the central to their mission is empowering the youth of Nagaland and Northeast through hip-hop culture while giving them a profound voice and a creative outlet.
The organisers have extended an invitation to all music enthusiasts to join the festival in nurturing the vibrant energy during the much-anticipated event.
Beyond its artistic aspects, the Nagaland Hip-Hop Festival 2023 aims to unite people in the spirit of celebration and unity while the show acknowledges hip-hop culture’s potential to transcend boundaries and connect individuals from diverse backgrounds.
It was also announced that taxi drivers Sazo Metha and Colony Uncle will be joining the festival.
They gained popularity on social media for showcasing their raw talent and love for hip-hop and that their passion for rap is as fierce as their determination on the road.
Artists including rappers, dancers, beatboxers, and more will be part of the festival.
Performing during the event will be Moko Koza, LC Sekhose, ZT Slingshot, Psycho K4, Atiro, Poz Poz, Yoto Khuso, Skalet, Coffee and Rovi, T.My, Legacy Leavers, Fyer Flys, Nentong Konyak, Juztino, Savizo, Dj Theja, Taxi Boys, and Kid Jingx.
The festival powered by TaFMA is managed by Table 3, with Rüdi Resort as the title sponsor. Kohima Trade Centre as stage sponsor, artists will be backed by Olive Spring, Fifa Café will handle the digital aspect, and supported by Black Rose Café.
Tickets will be available for purchase online starting from October 18 (9 pm onwards) till the 22nd at www.mytvshows.in.
Early birds can secure their tickets for INR 100 during this period. For those who miss this online window, physical tickets will be available at the festival venue for INR 200.
It’s worth noting that the first edition of the hip-hop festival took place in 2019, after which it went online due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This event marks its return to the offline format after three years of pandemic restrictions.
LC Sekhose mentioned that Table 3, established in 2017, is a dynamic duo unit comprising the Artist Resonance Team (ART) and the Event Management Team (EMT). Their primary objective is to provide comprehensive support to emerging artists in the realms of music and art.
