It was very disheartening to read the comments of a respected elder of my community literally casting doubts about the wishes of a revered father not only Sumi but all Nagas Assu Issac Chishi Swu fought and worked all his life until his passing for Nagas to be one and free. To cast doubt upon his wisdom and sanity when his time to meet our heavenly father had come was an insult not only to his memory but to the near and dear ones he left behind who were near him as he passed away, the hate and divisive tone of his speech was something Nagas as a whole will reject. But demeaning the occasion of a revered leader passing anway to use it for creating confusion and hatred is an insult to my fathers and uncles who gave their lives for the Nagas and not for the Nagaland state.
Mr. Hokishe Yeptho must come out clearly what kind of interim arrangement is needed for Naga’s of Nagaland and why? His speech at the 9th anniversary celebration of unification is a call to bring more division among Nagas which is already so divided.
Naga’s movement for one and free nation started long before 16th points agreement or 16th states of India recognising only 14 tribes was coined out of Naga’s of Assam only. It is directly done at the expense of whole Naga movement for one nation one government. Instead of confusing common people , Mr.hokisheYeptho should clarify when Th. Muivah accepted any precondition. Likewise Th. Muivah should also clarify his stand on present Naga political negotiation with GOI as Naga people have every right to know from both of them. It is also insulting on the part of Hokishe Yeptho comparing Naga political settlement to an owl waiting for oak fruit to ripen which shows his true colour as “anti-Naga”.
When Mr. Hokishe Yeptho spoke about wise man R.N Ravi the interlocutor who could notaccommodate Mr. Jack . Did you ever hear what Mr.R.N Ravi told every Naga civil society that this talk is not only about NSCN-IM but whole Naga’s talk. He even extended his helping hand to other factions to join in negotiation party. This clearly shows Government of India(GOI) is serious to solve Naga political problem at its earliest. Even Mr. Modi prime minister of India at his speech on 4th august 2015 when signing framework(FA) agreement clearly says “now you (Naga) will have to build your own nation”.
As said before in my last press release, the ball is in the court of Naga civil societies, not Indian nor NSCN-IM. This is left for all Naga’s to decide on your own wisdom, and words of division will only keep the solution further away.
