Hello folks,

[dropcap]I[/dropcap] believe that life has so much to give if only we cared to give a little thought to the most minuscule of joys (which we’d find so much of) only if we’d stop looking at the looming discomforts and discontents.
So here I am, to share with you the simplest joys in my life as I have experienced some time in my life and those that I take as I face each day, at a time.

… God’s best gifts in small packages.. ( Made for each other)
Another Saturday, and as most Saturdays I stepped out early to make it to my Piano classes before I headed off to work. A Card Shop, a Flower Boutique, a Cake shop ( no, not just a cake shop, but THE BEST cake shop) and then a bend into the lane that led me to my friends’, where I tried my hand at reading notations so that I could play a tune or so, for my own listening pleasure at the instrument that is one of my favourites.
I love this time of morning when everything is so perfectly set; the quiet, the clean the cool. What would I need more than this – going to do what I enjoyed at just the right time ? ..and then it happened ! …
.. I stood there. Staring in wonder, yet grinning from ear to ear. At the side of the lane was an open water pipe, barely 4-5 inches high off the ground with water gushing out its mouth. Right under it stood a wee sparrow ruffling, shaking, fluffing its feathers, taking an early morning shower.
‘Just made for each other’, is what crossed my mind. Nothing could’ve more aptly fitted. I shared in this lil’ sparrow’s joy . The smile on my face was there to stay for the rest of the day and in my head, the song.. ‘His Eye is on the Sparrow….’ ( Matt 6: 26).

Willing and Able:
6 am in the morning and she takes her now- unsteady- step- at- a time walking up the stairs leading to the terrace. My guess is her occasional morning walk. Five minutes and she gently trudges down, bundle of last evening’s wash, crisp and dry in her hands. Tears well in my eyes as she smiles her sweetest smile… Word’s don’t come easy with her these days ..yet this small but caring act tells me she still wants to help in every way ..
My sister, ever always willing to lend that helping hand.. and as ably as she possibly can.
