In Appreciation…….. of the simple pleasures of life…

Hello folks,

I believe that life has so much to give if only we cared to give a little thought to the most minuscule of joys (which we’d find so much of) only if we’d stop looking at the looming discomforts and discontents.
So here I am, to share with you the simplest joys in my life as I have experienced some time in my life and those that I take as I face each day, at a time.

Joy in Differences …is in continuation from last week, of a stimulating ‘peek’ I fleetingly stole on a brief passing from one region to another on a short sojourn.
…. each mile traveled, each kilometer covered, shows a shift from one culture to another by the least and slightest of differences though so present.
Today’s Joy is in the sighting and perceiving of the negligible variation, the feeblest of disparities which make the world so much more remarkably, fascinatingly appealing.
Wicker- basket -loads of wood logs on their backs they tread in measured pace and rhythm as if to a waltz. Ruddy and glowing, rosy –cheeked flushes a natural healthy blush on every face cannot be missed even from afar as the road takes me through the cool and sparkling refreshing mountainous crag and hill.
At a closeness of seventy kilometers, twists, loops, and curved bends, at length relent to the wide span of vastness called the plains. Weaving through floral boulevards, rambling past forests speckled with areas of tea bushes, the path now acquaints us to adroit hands sun-bronzed, deeply tanned under the scorch of a stifling summer, competently capable in their occupation- leaves are picked evenly.
Being voyagers on a journey fellow travelers cannot be snubbed ,more so their means of transportation – taxis and their assisting cousins ( the autos) all uniformly in yellow and black across almost the entire country, may however be markedly told apart by model and design, singled out distinctively in each different region.
With all of the noted variations in occupation, and appearances, undulating the road takes us on without barriers or boundaries fluidly flowing, permitting us to grasp these minute hints of change as we travel province to province. Cozy log cabins, curtained country side houses, are instantly altered to high- rising modern concrete constructions in complete contrast to cool light-weight thatched mud and sun baked abodes.
The approach in mannerism; the fashion of a baby carried; the tastes in food and adornment; the impeccably attempted get up of lipstick painted belles with perfectly shod feet, to the indifferent carefree loveliness of a naturally gilded body; each presage and signify a typical admirable characteristic, stereotyped of a people and their roots.
Intriguing and captivating is the realisation that this is but a part of one nation regardless and in the face of its varied range of multiplicity.
