Mokokchung, Feb. 12 (EMN): Dr. Imtiwapang Aier of the Naga People’s Front (NPF) has declared his candidature to contest in the Nagaland state assembly elections from 23rd Impur assembly constituency at his native village Sungratsu on Mon. in Mokokchung.
Dr. Aier, a geologist, won the 2013 polls on Congress ticket but merged with the ruling NPF government then. He held the portfolio of geology and mining as a parliamentary secretary and later elected the speaker of Nagaland Legislative Assembly. He has decided to contest the forthcoming elections with focus on empowering women and youth.
Dr. Aier has spoken about his priority to solve the problems of unemployed youths. To promote youth employment, he said to have decided to embark on sustainable projects and private enterprises. “I am ready to provide everything in my capacity to promote youth empowerment,” the candidate said in an appeal to the youths.
