Mokokchung, Oct. 22 (EMN): The 16th Imtitemjen Memorial Table Tennis Tournament organised by Mokokchung District Table Tennis Association (MDTTA) culminated at Multi-Sports Complex, Mokokchung on October 22.

Imsutongzuk won the Men’s Single championship title, while Limsor bagged Under-21 Single’s champion title.

Temsuchuba Jamir EAC, Mokokchung, who was the special guest of the event, stressed on the importance discipline in any sports as well as in every walk of life. He said that discipline is the foundation that builds an athlete’s character and ‘which lead to hard-work to achieve its goal.’

Asserting that technology has positive as well as negative impacts, he encouraged the young players not to be enslaved by modern technology which can make a person inactive physically; but to choose a sport to remain active.

He also encouraged the MDTTA to promote table tennis game and said that the administration is ready to support if the association comes with one mind to promote the game to a greater height.

More than 40 players participated in various categories during the event.

Results:
Men’s Single: Champion – Imsutongzuk; runner-up – Mosemba
Men’s Double: Champion – Ongshi Jamir and Imsutongzuk; runners-up – Sentinok and Sensonungsang
Under-21 Single’s: Champion – Limsor; runner-up – Mosemba Lkr
Under-21 Double: Champion – Nungshichuba and Mosemba Lkr; runners-up – Soyimmeremn and Lijempong.
