DIMAPUR — The vice chancellor of ICFAI University, Saundarjya Borbora, has underlined the important role of teachers in teaching literacy and numeracy to students from young age.

He informed that the kind of diversity which the G20 leaders are getting from different countries would enhance a country in different fields and bring positive impact.

Tolto Metha, team member of Nagaland Bamboo Development Agency, felt that there should be environmental awareness. He urged the gathering to respect, protect and preserve environment in order to prevent man-made destruction.

He advised the students to begin environmental movement in a small way. He added that one need not be an activist but be an environmental steward and contribute in small things such as picking an environmental issue that strikes them as most urgent and by trying to resolve it.

Dr. Andrew Ahoto Sema, LFI chairman, has stressed on the need to change the system with the changing time. While emphasising on the importance of NEP, Dr. Ahoto stated that students should not be taught ‘what to think but how to think’ and added that rote memorisation should be done away.
