Dimapur, April 11 (EMN): The current Commissioner of People with Disabilities (PWDs), and former Editor of Eastern Mirror, Diethono Nakhro on Thursday repeated her call for implementation of Disability Act in Nagaland.

Speaking to the DIPR after casting her vote at Jotsoma, the activist asserted that her priority was to see that “implementation is carried out for accessibility of people with disabilities.” Nakhro said that she had taken over as the commissioner in the last part of January although she has been working with the state government with regard to PWDs for quite a few years now.

“A proper office setting is required which, she said, is dysfunctional since no physical thing has come out as of now and therefore setting up of the office is her top priority, she stated. She also said that she has been working with the Election department also for few years now on related matters. Diethono further said that she would be working with all other districts as well to ensure that every possible accessibility is made for the disabilities in future,” the report read.
