Imphal’s custom div. seizes 40 gold biscuits

Imphal, June 26 (EMN): The Customs division of Imphal seized 40 gold biscuits of foreign origin along the Imphal- Moreh highway on June 25, an official sources said on Tuesday.
A combined team of officials of the Customs preventive force based at Moreh and Anti-smuggling unit, Customs Division of Imphal seized gold biscuits weighing 6.64 kg worth around INR 2 cr. from a tipper truck at Khudengthabi, around 100 km south of Imphal along the Imphal-Moreh highway on Mon. June 25, said assistant commissioner of Imphal customs division RK Darendrajit Singh.

‘One Md. Aksar of Bengoon Mayai Leikai in Mayang Imphal has been arrested in this connection,’ Darendrajit said. “So far, the Customs division Imphal has seized 27.5 kilograms of contraband gold worth INR 8.5 crore in 20 cases since April 1 2018.
