Dimapur, April 12 (EMN): The advisor for Industries & Commerce Imnatiba has appealed to the central government to address issues concerning Aadhaar and schemes in the handloom sector for Nagaland.
The legislator was in Delhi meeting with Smriti Zubin Irani, the Union minister for Textiles and Information & Broadcasting, in the national capital on April 12, updates informed on Thursday. Officers of the Industries & Commerce department accompanied him.
Imnatiba briefed her about problems relating to Aadhaar being mandatory for scheme beneficiaries for the reason that its coverage in Nagaland was ‘not yet 100 percent,’ according to the updates.
Further, he sought redress for what was stated to be “the irregular mode of fund release of the provided ministerial schemes already in the pipeline” which have been held up “due to which a lot of investment and channelizing is at stake.”
Likewise, the advisor was stated to have requested the minister to look into the handloom and handicraft sector in Nagaland ‘as it has always been a very important lifeline to the state and its artisans in particular.’
Irani is stated to have “anticipated very well to the prayers and suggestions” placed by the advisor. She “eagerly committed to look into the subject at the earliest possible,” the updates informed.
