DIMAPUR — Immanuel College, Dimapur, organised its graduation ceremony for the class of 2025 on Friday at the college auditorium with Hoto Yeptho, former director of Land and Resources, as the commencement speaker.
An update from the college stated that the commencement speaker, in his address to the graduates, strongly recommended two guiding principles in life- firstly, to know God and secondly, to work hard in order to reach greater heights by fulfilling God's purpose for their lives.
Citing that life has two key points- exit and entry, he stated that the graduates stood at the crucial juncture by having completed a milestone and entering a new chapter. While reminding that life is a challenge and not a bed of roses, he however assured them that God would help those who seek Him and work hard and believe in themselves.

While stating that one's degree and knowledge might determine their entry to any opportunities, he reminded that one's integrity, honesty and humility protect the chair. He, therefore, urged the students to be known by not only their achievements but by those enduring qualities.
He also urged the gathering to live a God-fearing live in all their endeavours. To reinforce his point, he recounted a metaphorical example from a poster once seen at 3rd Mile, Dimapur, when Gypsy King was newly launched in Nagaland that read 'Own the King, and the Kingdom is yours.' He also encouraged the students to be helpful, grateful and always to stay humble.
During the event, the commencement speaker also felicitated Benda, topper of Botany department at Nagaland University, with a certificate and cash award.
The college’s principal, Dr. Th Sharatchandra Singh, delivered the welcome address followed by introduction of commencement speaker and felicitation of the teachers by Dr. A Loso Chalai, chairman of the college’s governing body.
The programme featured song presentation by E Esther, while speech on behalf of the teachers was delivered by Dr. S Temsusenla Ai, head of Economics department, and graduation speeches by Benda and Imsuren Imchen, followed by presentation of graduation certificates.
