Imlibenla Wati sponsored tea and snacks to the volunteers of various tribal unions manning the bandh imposed at Mokokchung town today.

While many may harbor doubts as to her intentions, it came as a refreshing delight to those interacting with the beauty queen, who confessed her pain at witnessing the current situation in the state. She brushed off any ulterior motive behind her voluntary act and said that she views all those men as her brothers and fathers who were risking their lives for a cause that would benefit the whole Naga society.
She implored upon people not to misconstrue her small act of kindness as having any political agenda but as a humanitarian gesture that any right thinking citizen would extend to fellow beings. Imlibenla, who is known for her social benefit works spoke about her desire to contribute in whatever small way she can towards the society. On query, she admitted that she had previously expressed her interest in contesting the municipal election, however, didn’t file nomination papers listening to the common voice of the people. She opined that she didn’t expect to lead a people by going against the wishes of those very people.
