Dimapur, Feb. 2 (EMN): Apex Nagaland tribe hohos with other civil organisations on Saturday “empowered” the Joint Committee on Prevention of Illegal Immigrants (JCPI) to “take any action deemed fit” if the committee on ILP formed by the state government fails to submit its recommendation to the government on or before Feb. 6. A press statement from the JCPI informed that this was one of the resolutions passed during a consultative meeting among the committee, “apex tribe hohos, mass based organisations and CSOs” on Saturday in Dimapur. It informed that the “ILP committee had asked for 7 days more to submit its recommendations to the state government, including the recommendation to include Dimapur district under ILP” regulation. They also decided to submit a joint memorandum on Citizenship (Amendment) Bill to the president of India at the earliest.
