Illicit liquor worth 5 lakh seized

Dimapur, Sep 9 (EMN): The 28 Assam Rifles under aegis of HQ IGAR (N) established a check post alongwith Police representatives at Foot Hill road junction on September 7. According to the press release, during the search of a suspected vehicle (Mahindra Bolero Pick p Vehicle No AS 03 AC 8878), the team recovered illegal Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) worth 5 lac. being smuggled from Assam to Nagaland. In this connection, two person identified as Chonthungo Kikon, son of Enibemo Kikon (28 Yrs) of Tsungiki village, PWD Colony, Wokha Town and Mustaq Rahman, son of Mofizur Rahman, (30 Yrs) of Janatapur village, Surung pathar, Golaghat were apprehended. The two accused along with seized articles were handed over to Bhandari Police Station for further investigation.
