IKD celebrates 25th anniversary
DIMAPUR — Ighanumi Küqhakulu Dimapur (IKD) on Saturday celebrated its silver jubilee here at Hayiro UNB, Burma Camp, Dimapur, with member of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Dr. Sukhato A Sema, as the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sema said that celebrating silver jubilee in itself was a remarkable milestone and stated that the event served as a reminder of the sacrifices and challenges faced by the pioneers, who under their steadfast guidance and leadership, propelled the organisation to achieve and witness 25 glorious years.
He mentioned that since the inception of IKD, there has been significant progress in every aspect. He, therefore, urged everyone not to forget the divine provider, the Holy God.
Dr. Sema expressed that the jubilee should serve as a time for introspection and retrospection and urged everyone to continue working together in unity for a better future. He also encouraged the gathering to concentrate on their talents and harness them effectively to make valuable contributions to the community and society in general.
He further stressed on the need to preserve and promote the use of mother tongue.
Short speeches were delivered by the president of Sümi Aphuyemi Küqhakulu Dimapur (SAKD), Shikato Shohe; advocate and notary public, Otoka H Yeptho; president of Ighanumi Inalimi Kuposhukulu, Teli Kipa Sheqi; and Head GB of Ighanumi, Nikuto K Swu.
The jubilee souvenir was released by pastor of AG Church, Ighanumi, Kaito Swu, while the jubilee sermon was delivered by associate professor at TTC, Thahekhu, Dr. James I Swu. A song was presented by Mughami Melos, folk song by Azanoqo and Bible reading was led by youth pastor of NCRC Purana Bazaar, Shikato Swu.
Invocation prayer was said by Kanili I Swu and concluded with a benediction said by former women pastor of IBC, Shikhuli Kiba.
