DIMAPUR — The India’s International Movement to Unite Nations (IIMUN) Kohima Conference is scheduled to take place at G Rio School in Kohima from May 23 to the 25th.

According to a press release, the event is expected to draw over 300 students who will engage in various committees, simulating the roles of world leaders. Through the Model United Nations (MUN) format, participants will have the opportunity to enhance their skills in diplomacy, negotiation, public speaking, and research.

The inaugural ceremony of the conference will take place on May 23 at 4 pm, while the debate sessions will commence on May 24. The sessions will be spread across 10 committees in 10 classrooms, involving students from classes 5 to 12, representing 50 different schools across Kohima.

The day will feature simultaneous debates across these 10 committees, as well as various moderated and unmoderated caucuses and challenges, and will conclude with a speaker series and a talent hunt in which students will showcase their abilities.

On the final day, three winners will be selected from each committee based on their performance, speaking skills, diplomacy, and research about the committee and their portfolio. Following this, the best school delegation will be felicitated with a trophy.
