DIMAPUR — The International Human Rights Council (IHRC), Nagaland State Board, has condemned the killing of New Market GB Abdul Kayum Talukdar on June 7 in Dimapur.
In a condemnation note, the IHRC Nagaland termed the incident a direct violation of ‘Right to Life,’ one of the most basic and important rights that nations and the international community strive to protect.
“Today, there are several laws and rights that even protect criminals from being treated inhumanely. But it was unfortunate to witness the brutal killing of a free man in public in the state of Nagaland,” it stated.
Demanding justice for the victim, the council said the culprits should get befitting punishment as per the law.
