Dimapur, Dec. 20 (EMN): The Integrated Extension Training Centre (IETC), Medziphema organised a six-day skill training of rural youth (Stry) on mushroom cultivation from December 14 to the 19th at Sameti training hall.
It was held in collaboration with the State Agricultural Management and Training Institute (Sameti), Medziphema, and the National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (Manage), Hyderabad.
An update from Sameti stated that the training programme was focused on the importance of mushroom cultivation on various aspects for successful adoption by rural youths. It added that various topics on mushroom cultivation and detailed hands–on training on oyster mushroom cultivation were covered during the technical session.
The moderator of the training was Kikatemjen, agriculture officer from IETC, while the keynote address was delivered by Dr. Watimongla Jamir, principal of IETC and director of Sameti, and the vote of thanks was delivered by Seyievielo Sono, lecturer of IETC.
The training concluded with distribution of certificates by the director of Sameti.
Altogether, 17 trainees along with the officers and staff from IETC attended the training programme. The resource persons for the training were lecturers and officers from IETC and Sameti.
