DIMAPUR — A Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (Urban) IEC van arrived in Pfutsero town, Phek district, on Monday to disseminate information and raise awareness about the central government’s welfare schemes.

C Phuniang, SDO Civil, Pfutsero, said at a programme held on the occasion at ADC Office, Pfutsero, that the Vikshit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY) is a nationwide campaign aimed at raising awareness through outreach activities and achieving saturation of the schemes across the country, according to an update.

While noting that a large number of citizens have benefited from the various welfare schemes implemented by the Centre, he stated that the goal of VBSY is to reach out to vulnerable citizens who are eligible under various schemes but have not yet accessed the benefits. Phuniang also urged all potential beneficiaries to open bank accounts and obtain Adhaar cards in order to be enrolled and reap the benefits of the schemes.

During the programme, Phuniang provided details on various schemes, such as PM SVANidhi, PM Ujjwala Yojana, Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, PM Awas Yojana (Urban), and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Urban) as well as administered the VBSY pledge to the gathering.

Beneficiaries of central government schemes shared their personal stories and experiences during the ‘Meri Kahani Meri Zubani’ event, while the VBSY van, mounted with an LED screen, played out the message of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and videos on the welfare schemes. Calendars and brochures were also distributed to the public.

On the same day, a VBSY rural campaign was also conducted at Asangma village under the Tuli block of Mokokchung district.
