Idgah Committee extends Idd greetings

DIMAPUR —  The Idgah Committee has wished everyone a happy Idd and requested that everyone cooperate with the committee during Idd Namaj. According to an update, the Id-ul-Fitre 2024 Namaj will be held at Dimapur Iddgah Prayer Ground, Golaghat Road in Dimapur, at 8 am, and this year’s Id-ul-Fitre prayer will be led by Maulana Haji Fazail Ahamed Sb, Pesh Imam Iddgah Jame Masjid, Dimapur.

PPO executive meeting on April 15

DIMAPUR —  The Podinkup Public Organisation (PPO), Wokha, has convened its first executive meeting for the tenure 2024-2029 on April 15 at Morakjo village at 10 am. In a press release, the PPO requested all federating villages and subordinate units to attend the said meeting positively.

NSCN (Niki) clarifies news

DIMAPUR —  In response to a news item that Assam Rifles apprehended a member of the NSCN (Niki Sumi) involved in extortion, on Monday, the NSCN/GPRN (Niki) clarified that the person reportedly apprehended by the AR personnel at Project Colony in Zunheboto on April 6 is not a member of the NSCN/GPRN and does not have any connection whatsoever with the group.

Randomisation of EVMs, VVPATs held in Zunheboto

DIMAPUR —  The second randomisation of EVMs and VVPATs and training for poll-bound micro-observers for the upcoming Lok Sabha election in Zunheboto was held at the DC conference hall at 12 pm on April 8, according to a DIPR update.

DIMAPUR —  The V&V Club will be holding its annual meeting-cum-picnic on April 12 at Hornbill Cafe in Kisama, starting at 2:30 pm. All members have been requested to attend the programme without fail.

Sao Chang College holds HIV screening, blood grouping Drive

DIMAPUR —  The Red Ribbon Club and NSS Unit of Sao Chang College, in collaboration with the District AIDS Control and Prevention Unit (DACPU) Tuensang, organised an HIV screening and blood grouping drive at the college campus on Monday. The district programme officer, Chongshen Chang, from DACPU, on the occasion, emphasised the significance of knowing one’s HIV status. He urged the participants to contribute to society by educating others about the stigma and discrimination faced by HIV/AIDS patients. He also encouraged students to volunteer for blood donations. A total of 83 students and teachers participated in the HIV screening test and blood grouping, according to an update.

DIMAPUR —  The Diphupar ‘B’ Village Council, Chümoukidema, has informed the general public of Diphupar ‘B’ village that the general meeting will be held on April 13 at 9 am at the village council hall. The council informed the general public of Diphupar village to attend the meeting without fail.

IRCS Kohima inducts Junior Red Cross members

DIMAPUR —  The induction programme of the Junior Red Cross, organised by the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) Kohima district branch for Coraggio School at Lerie and Public School at Dzuvuru, Kohima, took place on Monday at the school premises of both institutions. Kuoliebeizo Mepfhuo, a member of the managing committee of the IRCS Kohima district branch, administered the oath to the Junior Red Cross members. Thehiechulie Louis, honorary secretary, spoke about the Indian Red Cross Society and the Red Cross Movement while also discussing the responsibilities of the Junior Red Cross members.
