IDAN organises training on CSR compliance and project management
DIMAPUR — The Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN), in collaboration with HCL Foundation through their HCL Academy, successfully organised a comprehensive two-day capacity-building training on ‘CSR compliances and project management’ on May 20 and 21 with the participation of 35 NGOs from across Nagaland.
Speaking at the inaugural session, the principal secretary to the chief minister and development commissioner, R Ramakrishnan, who was the special guest, emphasised the importance of NGOs in fostering the empowerment of Naga society and expressed gratitude to HCL Foundation for partnering with IDAN in spearheading initiatives for the betterment of Nagaland.
An update from IDAN stated that Reny Wilfred, joint secretary of IDAN, delivered the welcome address, while Dr. Nidhi Pundhir, vice president of Global CSR HCL Tech and director of HCL Foundation, reiterated the foundation’s commitment to supporting NGOs through collaborative efforts and capacity-building initiatives.
I Changsang, under secretary of IDAN, delivered the closing remarks at the formal programme, wherein he expressed appreciation to all the participants and emphasised the importance of implementing the knowledge gained during the training.
It stated that during the two-day workshop, resource persons from HCL Foundation namely Dr. Surabhi Yadav, Nikhil Pant, Rahul Kumar, Dr. Chandrayee Das and Subhash Mittal delivered insightful presentations on various topics.
The resource persons have enlightened on evolution of CSR, compliance with Section 135 of the Companies Act 2013, and CSR activities outlined in project Schedule VII of the Companies Act 2013. Additionally, participants gained valuable insights into project management processes, project planning, development and implementation of change.
The second day of the training delved into fundamental aspects of CSR policy, guiding participants on how to prepare effective CSR policies and strategies for development communication and resource mobilisation.
The training concluded with a virtual presentation covering crucial topics such as accounting, taxation, latest amendments and notifications relevant to CSR initiatives. It added that discussions on assessment and certification provided participants with the opportunity to share their key learning and action points.
Report stated that the two-day capacity-building training has enhanced the capabilities of NGOs in Nagaland, fostering collaboration between stakeholders and driving impactful social initiatives for the betterment of the community.
