Dimapur, March 21 (EMN): Forum for cultural studies (Focus), ICFAI University Nagaland, celebrated its 3
rd annual cultural day in the university premises on the theme ‘Culture, preservation and change.’
A press release by Dr. H Salome Kinny, Focus coordinator, stated that Dr. Benjonkumba, assistant professor of Dimapur Government College, was the resource person. In his presentation, the resource person stated that culture gives organised life and community. He also encouraged the students to preserve culture by participating in cultural events and other related activities.
The first session was chaired by Liche-ü Therie, which included presentation of folksong by music club, folkdance, folktale enactment and recitation. The second session saw traditional attire exhibition of over twenty-four communities. The release stated that the exhibition was an enriching first-hand experience in learning about the attire of different communities.
Meanwhile, Green club also organised plant donation as part of the event. The IUN community donated tree saplings, flowers, pots etc towards the cause. Infinity organic and Ilandlo also participated in the event, the release added.
