Dimapur, April 17 (EMN): Speaker and trainer of RZIM Life Focus Society, Dr. Kethoser Kevichusa, highlighted eight challenges namely political, economic, social, environmental, educational, cultural, moral and spiritual confronting the Naga people today and attributed tribalistic mindset of the people as one of the major factors that is severely damaging the present Naga society as a whole.
Dr. Kevichusa stated this while delivering a talk on ‘Challenges facing us today,’ organised by the Department of History, ICFAI University Nagaland, on April 16. He also attributed instability prevalent in Naga politics for which even the multi- national companies have stopped making investments in Nagaland.
He concluded by stating that his purpose of the talk was not to solve the problems or give answers but rather to challenge the gathering to deliberately make choices between “sovereignty or stability, dependency or sufficiency, narrow-mindedness or broad-mindedness, futility or sustainability, superficiality or sagacity, traditionality or vitality, depravity or integrity, religiosity or authenticity.”
The talk was chaired by Dr. Khrienuo, assistant professor, Department of History, while the vote of thanks was proposed by Kamsiliu K Pamei, BA 4th semester.
