DIMAPUR — In accordance with the directives of the Central Vigilance Commission, ICAR-NRC on Mithun, Medziphema observed Vigilance Awareness Week (VAW) from October 30 to November 5, focusing on the theme ‘Say no to corruption; commit to the nation’.
According to a press release, the VAW began with the recitation of the integrity pledge, which was led by Dr. Girish Patil S, the institute’s director, who also delivered a brief address emphasising the critical importance of vigilance in all aspects of life.
As part of capacity-building efforts, on October 31, ICAR-NRC on Mithun and ICAR-Nagaland Centre jointly hosted a lecture on ‘Procurement’ featuring Pradyumna Kumar Jain, registrar and chief administrative officer (sr. grade) of ICAR-Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Izzatnagar.
The lecture had a total of 80 participants, including representatives from Nagaland University’s School of Engineering and Technology and the National Institute of Technology, Chümoukedima.
In compliance with CVC instructions, the institute also held various competitions such as extempore speech, quiz, slogan, essay, and drawing for schoolchildren, staff, and trainees, with a total of 196 participants participating.
As part of the Vigilance Awareness Campaign, the institute displayed the public interest disclosure and protection informers (PIDPI) banners in both English and Hindi at ICAR-NRC on Mithun Porba station, KVK Porba, ICAR-NRC on Mithun Medziphema campus, and in Medziphema town.
The VAW events concluded on November 5, with a valedictory programme presided over by Dr. Nazrul Haque, principal scientist, in which certificates were awarded to the winners of the various competitions.
