ONE-DAY Science Exhibition was organized at Don Bosco School (DBS), Tseminyu on September 11.
The theme of the Science Exhibition was, “I read, I forget, “I see, I remember,” and “I do, I understand.” There were 44 items for the exhibition, which the Don Bosco students prepared.
Vikhweno (Weno) Magdalene, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Tseminyu, inaugurated the exhibition. She accompanied by other dignitaries, Watilo Mac, Sub-divisional Education Officer, Nzanbemo Tsopoe, Treasury officer, Gwani, Sub-divisional Information Officer, DB’s and village chairman spent over two hours inspecting the exhibition.
After the inspection, while addressing the gathering, she profusely appreciated the school management, staff and students of Don Bosco School for the hard work put in to organize the exhibition in a creative way. “I have learned something which I haven’t even learned. I have seen something which I haven’t seen. You have given me an opportunity to learn something”, she said. She also appreciated the Catholic schools, for the opportunity given to the students to bring out their talents in the field of science and all the other areas. She recalled with gratitude the knowledge and skills the Catholic school has imparted to her while she was an alumnae of a Catholic institution.
The exhibition was witnessed by students of Govt. Hr. Sec. School, parents and others. Earlier Fr. Richard Fernandes, welcomed the chief guest, dignitaries and others, and the students of DBS expressed it through a beautiful song. Sr. Lucy MSMHC, the headmistress of the school, proposed vote of thanks.
Earlier on 6th, 8th and 9th of September, a literary competition was held in the school, which included Solo, Duet, Choir, Dance, Flute, Kank, Folk Songs, prepared speech, extempore speech, Quiz, Spell Bee, Creativity show, Debate, Creativity Advertisement, drawing, Essay writing, brain game, choral, storytelling and word game etc.
