Hurricanes knocked out, Shoorveer 28 AR enter quarter finals

Wokha, Dec 28: In the first match of eh day, Hurricanes were knocked out by the Hornbill Kohima CC in the latter’s first match in the ongoing Winter Cricket Challenge, Wokha on Thursday.
Hornbill Kohima Cc won the toss and elected to bat scoring a total of 116 with a loss of 6 wickets in a restricted 15 overs due to ground condition.
Hurricanes was 10 runs short in the 15 overs of the second innings and the match went to Hornbill Kohima CC.
Tieso of Hornbill Kohima CC was adjudged the Man of the Match with his 14 runs not out striking three 4s in 6 balls and took 1 wicket in his 2 overs.
In the second match Shoorveer 28 AR completely decimated the Forest (B) team winning the match by a huge margin of 128 runs to book a slot in the Quarter final of the ongoing tournament. Earlier Shoorveer had won the toss and elected to bat scoring 178 in 20 overs losing 4 wickets.
The second innings saw the complete decimation of the Forest(B) team when only two batsmen could gather double digits runs of 13 and 15 respectively and all wickets down in just 12.2 overs.
Man of the match was bagged by opener, Amar Thapa of Shoorveer 28 AR making 66 Runs with his willow in 55 balls with eleven 4’s and claimed 2 wickets. As of Wednesday, Royal Strikers, Shoorveer 28 AR, Renegades, Rising Star, Forest (A), Hornbill Kohima CC and LCYO (Lower CMHS Youth Organization) have reached the quarter finals the tournament.
The quarter finals will be knock out and from the semi finals it will be a round-robin league to decide the finalists.
The first quarter final match will be played between Renegades and Rising Star on Thursday.
