Dimapur, Feb. 1 (EMN): The Chümoukedima Village Youth Society (CVYS) has informed through a statement that hunting and fishing in the village jurisdiction is banned with immediate effect.
It said those who violate the rule will be fined up to INR 1 lakh depending on the severity of the violation and damages. The statement also said that “any” kind of fishing and organising picnic at Khouvarü is “strictly” prohibited.
The CVYS has also advised the public to desist from setting jungle on fire, carrying arms of any type, collecting firewood and fodder feeds, and unauthorised door-to-door sale and scrap business. It also said that organising picnics without permission from the organisation in the forest and rivers within the jurisdiction of the village is prohibited.
It warned that the defaulters will be penalised and dealt with as per its resolution. It said that its youth volunteers will keep a regular vigil of its jurisdiction to prevent any miscreants and anti-socials from disturbing the peaceful atmosphere of the village. It also advised the people to avoid loitering around in the village vicinity after 8pm.
The CVYS also issued a separate press release informing all the non-locals residing within Chümoukedima village jurisdiction that “the issuance of receipt for cattle reaming and renewal of tenancy card/trade license (2017-18 session) will commence from March 12 to 28 2019 within the CVYS office premises starting from 9am to 4pm.” It said all tenancy card/ trade license holders should bring two passport size photos along with national register of citizens (NRC).
