Huge fire breaks out at Sachü colony Dimapur; about 15 houses destroyed

A huge fire broke out at Sachü colony in Dimapur around 11 am on Thursday, reducing more than 10 houses to ashes and affected 37 families. The Goan Bura of Sachü colony said that 15 to 20 houses were destroyed in the inferno. Fire tenders were pressed into action as neighbours and onlookers joined in to douse the fire, which was brought uder control by 12.20 pm. At least two gas cylinders were heard exploding in the inferno. However, there was no loss of life. Official estimation of the losses and exact cause of the fire is still awaited. Candidates for the upcoming state election from 2 Dimapur-II Assembly Constituency, Moatoshi Longkumer of NDPP and Y Vikheho Awomi of LJP (RV) visited the site of the incident and assured extend help to the victims.
