HSLC exams 2024 begins in Manipur

IMPHAL — The High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination conducted by the Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BoSEM) began at 154 centres, including 63 in the hill and 91 in the valley districts, on Friday. The examination will conclude on April 8.

A total of 37,715 students, including 19,087 male and 18,628 female are appearing in the exam this year, according to BoSEM Chairman Akham Joykumar.

The exam will also see 596 male external candidates and 617 female external candidates, as well as 12 blind and disabled candidates.

As many as 27,281 students from private schools, 9,119 from government schools and 1,315 from aided institutes, are writing the exams this year.

Elaborate security arrangements have been put in place, with CrPC Section 144 imposed in and around the close perimeter of each exam centrec to facilitate a smooth conduct of the exams.

On the first day of the examination, two students were expelled for impersonation from Brilliant Public School centre at Shamurou in Imphal West district, it was informed.

A team led by board examination committee members as well as other inspection teams comnprising the board officials are overseeing the fair conduct of the exam. Eleven Nodal Officers (MCS Officer) have also been appointed to supervise the conduct of the exam in the centres located in hill districts.

Nodal officer and his/her subordinates will manage and supervise with the help of ZEO, Centre OC, AOC, SO and inspection teams. Time Stamp camera apps are used for recording all confidential related events with exact GPS and time.
